Shauna Ejeh is the Vice President of Quality and Workforce Development at Illinois Action for Children. In this new role, she is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality child care provider resources, including training, technical assistance, and consultation programs. Ms. Ejeh provides strategic direction on elevating the early childhood workforce and assessing and supporting quality service delivery.
Ms. Ejeh comes to Illinois Action for Children having most recently served as the Executive Director of Baby TALK, Inc., an early childhood organization located in Decatur, Illinois, with the mission to support the parent-child relationship during the early critical years. This 32-year-old organization directly serves children and families in Macon County while providing training and support to early care and education practitioners throughout Illinois and beyond.
Previously, Ejeh served as Associate Director of the Illinois Head Start State Collaboration Office working with Head Start programs and other state-level advocates to effect systems-level change for children and families. In this role she worked in partnership with colleagues from all of the Illinois Early Childhood Education Sectors to support programs and direct service providers within local communities, including serving on a statewide workforce development team.
She has worked in nonprofit management leading in several capacities for over 25 years. She received her M.A. and B.A. in Public Communication with a minor in Psychology from The American University in Washington, DC.
