Free Lead Testing & Plumbing Upgrades for Child Care Providers
Do You Have Lead in Your Water?
Every child deserves access to safe drinking water. Illinois Action for Children has teamed up with LeadCare Cook County to help reduce lead in drinking water by replacing lead service lines—completely free of charge.
A water service line is the pipe that delivers water to your home or facility from the water main in the street. If this pipe is made of lead, it can be the largest source of lead in drinking water!

Overview
LeadCare Cook County provides both licensed and license-exempt child cares in suburban Cook County with free lead service line replacement. Getting started is simple: just fill out the enrollment form. A LeadCare Specialist will then visit your child care facility to inspect your water service line. If it’s made of lead, we’ll schedule a date for a licensed plumber to replace it at no cost to you. Don’t wait—ensure safe drinking water for the children in your care.
