Since 2006, Illinois Action for Children’s (IAFC) Healthy Food Program has supported home-based, license exempt, Cook County child care providers–often called Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) care providers (primarily relatives or other trusted adults). Through the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), the Healthy Food Program allows home-based family child care providers to stretch food dollars while serving nutritious foods to the children in their care.
