Welcome Returning Emcee, ABC 7 Chicago’s Tanja Babich
We’re thrilled to welcome back Emmy-award-winning journalist, Tanja Babich, as our emcee for the sixth year. In addition to serving as the anchor of ABC 7 Chicago Eyewitness News in the Morning—she’s also a working mom of three who understands the challenges families face in finding quality child care, especially during non-traditional hours. Each year, as Tanja shares her own experiences, her deep connection to IAFC’s mission shines through.
Born in Canada to immigrant parents from Chile and Serbia, Tanja is a first-generation college graduate with degrees from Cornell University and Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. Beyond the newsroom, she serves on the board of HFS Chicago Scholars and founded Lake Affect Chicago, a kids’ camping retreat. She lives in Chicago with her husband and daughters.
