Introducing Pace Vanpool

Parents, do you need help with transportation to work and child care?

If you live in the south suburbs of Cook County, Illinois Action for Children can help you join and help pay for the Pace Vanpool program.

What Is Pace Vanpool?

Pace Vanpool is a carpool program that parents can join with others who share similar routes to and from work. When you join, Pace will:

  • Provide a van for your carpool group to use.
  • Cover all vehicle costs, including gas, Illinois tolls, insurance, maintenance and roadside assistance

How Does Pace Vanpool Work?

Participants form a vanpool group of at least four employed adults who use the van to drive the group between home and work. Illinois Action for Children is partnering with Pace to also help parents use the van for trips to child care.

You can form your own vanpool group, or we can help you form one. One person from the group is the primary driver. This person drives the group to and from work, and can use the van for some personal use as well. The other participants sign up as passengers and can also sign up as back-up drivers.
