Legislative Session Recap
On June 1, 2021, the Illinois General Assembly’s legislative session came to an end. While Illinois Action for Children is disappointed that overall state investments in early childhood were decreased, we are pleased to see federal investments made, particularly in the early childhood workforce. Additionally, we are excited about legislation passed this year to support the incumbent workforce in furthering their education and credentials. The four-part series focuses on child care issues and highlights the Ellis Early Learning Center in Boston, sharing diverse stories of families, providers, and childcare workers. Award-winning journalist and mother of three, Gloria Riviera, hosts the series with actress, activist, and mother of two, Kristen Bell.
