Quality Counts Child Care Grant
Child caring can be a rewarding and satisfying profession. However, many providers have difficulty finding affordable resources and materials needed to continuously improve upon the quality of care they provide.
Did you know that the Quality Counts Grant Program, funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and administered by Illinois Action for Children, distributes funding for these purposes to child care providers across the state?
To learn how you can become involved with Quality Counts, take the following steps:
- Make certain your program is listed in the Illinois Action for Children Referral Database before Quality Counts Information Sessions start.
- Take advantage of available grant writing workshops and trainings.
- Watch your mail and check back here for updates and information on the Information Sessions.
Who’s Eligible...
Licensed and License-Exempt family child care, and Licensed and License-Exempt Child Care Centers are eligible to apply for the Child Care Grant.
You Should Know...
You must attend 1 Information Session if you plan to apply for a Quality Counts Child Care Grant. Multi-site programs must have a representative from each site attend an information session.

- Assist with achievement and maintenance of Quality Rating System (QRS) Certification
