Building Blocks II

Building Blocks II, funded by the Grand Victoria Foundation, demonstrates how underserved, high-need communities can build capacity and attract the necessary state funding to serve hard-to-reach, at-risk children in high-quality early care and education programs.

For this project, Illinois Action for Children is partnering with a local agency in four communities: Aurora, Joliet, East St. Louis, and the Waukegan/Zion/North Chicago area. In each location, we are: engaging key constituents; assessing strengths and needs; collaboratively identifying a set of capacity-building strategies; and forming partnerships to implement at least one of those strategies.
