New! Quick Provider Update
Attention Child Care Center Directors:

Have you heard about Preschool for All? Have you ever wondered what it is and what it can do for your program?

Preschool for All can benefit  your center!

By having a Preschool for All classroom, you can get funds and resources from the state to improve the capacity, resources and marketability of your child care business. Successful implementation of Preschool for All can mean additional funding of up to $60,000 per classroom ($3000 x 20 children).

You can use these funds to pay for a Type 04 certified teacher as well as for other supplies resources, materials and professional development opportunities. (Note: each teacher can serve two classrooms, or 40 children total, adding up to as much as $120,000).

** Getting Preschool for All is easier than you think, and children already enrolled in your program can benefit from it  **

Illinois Action for Children is hosting training sessions in collaboration with the Illinois State Board of Education’s Division of Early Childhood Education to show you how.

Choose one of the following two-day session options:
• January 14-15 in Waukegan
• January 28-29 in Aurora
• February 11-12 in Fairview Heights

In addition to the initial two-day training, you will attend two final workshops focused specifically on the 2010 ISBE Request For Proposals (RFP) for Preschool for All applicants on March 24 and 25 in Springfield. Registrants must be available to attend BOTH the initial two-day training AND the final two days in March. In addition to attending the final workshops, you will be invited to attend the additional workshops and events included in Illinois Action for Children's annual Spring Into Action public policy conference.

Who can participate?

• Center-based providers outside the city of Chicago* who are not currently funded through Preschool for All (formerly the state prekindergarten program for at-risk children)

• Centers that have the capacity to serve three- and four-year-old children

• Must attend any one of the two-day training sessions in January or February AND the follow up session in March

What will I learn at these trainings?

These trainings will provide information you need to know as a Center Director about Preschool for All funding, the grant process and preparing your child care program for the application and implementation.
